Professional Experiences: Feb.2002 – date (Professor) State Key Laboratory of Soil and Sustainable Agriculture, ISSCAS; Feb.2000 – Jan. 2002 (JSPS Fellow) Faculty of Agriculture, Kagawa University, Japan; Feb.1998 – Jan.2000 (STA Fellow) Laboratory of Soil Biochemistry, National Institute for Agro-Environmental Sciences, Tsukubu, Japan; Feb.1995 – Jan.1998 (Assistant/Associate Professor) Laboratory of Material Cycling in Pedosphere, ISSCAS; Jan.1994 – Jan.1995 (Rothamsted International Fellow) Rothamsted Research, Harpenden, United Kingdom. Achievements have been made on physiological resistance mechanism to stresses in plants and efficient nutrient-uptake and utilization in crops, including the enrichment and innovation on theories of Al resistance mechanisms, the comprehensive study on effects of nutrient elements N, P on Al toxicity to plants and the new information on plant adaption to acid soils. A professional book on the behavior of Al in soil-plant and adaption mechanisms of plants was published by Ren Fang Shen as an editor in chief. Untill June 2009, more than 60 peer-review papers were published, including 26 SCI papers, cited by SCI journals 185 times, thereinto, 118 times of non-self-citation.

Commitment to research the situation:
2 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) programs, 1 CAS International Partnership Project and National Key Basic Research Special Funds of China had been completed as a principal investigator. There are 1 NSFC program, 1 Project of Creative Research Groups of NSFC, 1 major NSFC-JST Joint Research Program, 1 National Science and Technology Pillar Program and 1 Knowledge Innovation Program of CAS are currently under investigation.
